Production Operations & Logistics

You make the content.

Someone has to run the operation.

Operational and logistics support for content creators and production teams running ambitious projects in complex environments.

The kind of support that lets you focus on making great content, not managing the operation behind it.

Sound Familiar

The content gets better.
The operation gets harder.
Something starts to give.

You are not just a creator any more.
You are managing shoots across multiple countries, navigating permits and border logistics, tracking budgets in three currencies, keeping sponsors in the loop, coordinating gear and vehicles in places where nothing works the way it should, and trying to hold the production together at the same time as actually producing it.

The creative side of what you do keeps growing. So does everything behind it. And at some point the operational weight either starts consuming your time and headspace, or it gets handed to someone who is not really equipped for it. Either way, the content suffers.

There is another way to run it.

What The Red Monkey Group Does

The full operational layer, handled.

This is not a production company. Not a travel agent. Not a virtual assistant with a checklist. It is genuine operational expertise applied to the specific demands of ambitious content production. Available on a project basis or as an ongoing arrangement. No minimum engagement.

01

Expedition and production planning

Route development and logistics sequencing for multi-location shoots. Border crossing research, country entry requirements, documentation, visa strategy, carnets and vehicle import permits. Risk identification before you leave, not after something goes wrong in the field.

02

In-field operations support

On-the-ground or remote operational support during active production. You focus on the creative. Everything else, logistics, problem-solving, contingency management, stakeholder communication, gets handled.

03

Production systems and workflow

Building the operational infrastructure behind a growing channel or production company. Budget tracking frameworks, production schedules, shot list management, sponsor and brand deliverable tracking, content pipeline structure. The systems that stop things falling through the cracks as the operation scales.

04

Budget and financial management

Managing production budgets across long shoots and extended travel. Multi-currency tracking, expense management and cost forecasting across the life of a project. Knowing exactly where the money is, where it went, and where it is heading.

05

Vehicle and equipment logistics

Sourcing and preparing vehicles in foreign markets. Mechanical preparation, permits, carnets, shipping and importation. If you are trying to get a vehicle legally into a country that makes that genuinely difficult, this is the part that matters most.

06

Ongoing operations arrangement

For channels and production teams producing regular ambitious content, a continuing working relationship where the operational layer is managed consistently across projects, not just for one at a time.

The service is available to YouTube creators, independent filmmakers, small production companies and documentary producers working in demanding environments, among others.

About

Formal operations at scale.
Twenty years moving through the world independently.

My name is Jason. I have spent most of my working life in environments where the operational plan meets reality and the two do not always agree. That has made me good at keeping things moving when they should not be, and at building systems that hold up when the pressure is on.

On the formal side: five-plus years managing large-scale operations across major venues and events in Australia. Teams of up to 850 people, multi-million dollar contracts, and the full weight of delivery when things go wrong on the day. I have built operational departments from the ground up, held senior management roles across some of the country's largest recurring events, and spent years doing the kind of work where a spreadsheet and a good plan are only the beginning.

Jason - founder of The Red Monkey Group

Before that, a decade working on superyachts. Private vessels over 100 metres, operating globally for owners and guests whose expectations left no room for improvisation. The job demanded precise crew and logistics management, meticulous scheduling, and the ability to completely reroute an operation at short notice when a guest changed their mind at midnight in a foreign port. You learn quickly in that environment that standards either exist or they do not, and the consequences of cutting corners are immediate and visible.

Alongside all of that: more than twenty years of independent travel across 90-plus countries, through some genuinely difficult environments. Long drives through places that require more than a phone signal to navigate. Border crossings that require more than a valid passport. Situations where the plan stops working and the only option is to think clearly and adapt fast. I understand the environments your productions operate in, not from reading about them, but from spending years navigating them.

If the kind of content you make takes you to places that are hard to get to, hard to work in, or hard to get in and out of cleanly, there is a reasonable chance I already understand your environment.
